Presented in 1946 at the Paris Motor Show, at the same time as the Renault 4CV, of which it was to be one of the biggest rivals, the Dyna X broke the tradition of Panhard high-end vehicles.
Indeed, the brand realized that to last after the war, it would have to market a mass-produced car.
In 1943, engineer Jean-Albert Grégoire presented to the French manufacturers an aluminum car with the aim of promoting this material in automobile construction.
As part of the Pons Plan, Panhard will sign an agreement with the engineer to resume development of his prototype.
The Dyna X will thus be the first production car with an all-aluminum body.
Mechanically, its steel frame will receive an air-cooled 610 cc flat twin engine.
