Condition

7

The car is described as being in beautiful original condition with a nicely weathered interior and good exterior paintwork. Although the original engine has been replaced, it was with an Alpine R5 engine of the same capacity, and the brake system has been completely rebuilt. These factors suggest that the car is well-maintained and in good condition for its age, despite not being in perfect condition.

1967 Matra Jet 6 Chassis number: 30022 - In the same family since 1979 - State of origin - French registration The Djet was designed in 1962 by Jacques Hubert under the René Bonnet name.

It was intended as a civilian version of the CDs that had competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

From July 1966, the Matra Bonnet Djet 5 and Djet 5S became the Matra-Sports Jet 5 and Jet 6, dropping the Bonnet name and the D from Djet following the liquidation of Automobiles Bonnet and the end of its agreements with Matra Sports.

1967 saw the launch of the Jet 6, now powered by the 105hp 1,255cm3 engine derived from the Renault 8 Gordini.

This engine transformed the Matra, delivering top performance of almost 200 km/h! Despite these developments, the Matra Djet struggled to sell, and production was discontinued in 1968 after 1,693 units had been sold, of which only 222 were Jet 6s.

The example presented for sale has been in the same family since 1979.
