Developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering division as the ultimate homologation evolution of the already formidable Sierra RS Cosworth, the RS500 was created to strengthen Ford’s competitiveness in Group A touring car racing.

Hand-finished by Aston Martin Tickford and produced in strictly limited numbers, the RS500 combined aggressive styling, turbocharged Cosworth performance and genuine motorsport pedigree in a manner few road cars of the era could rival.

Today, the RS500 is rightly regarded as one of the definitive homologation specials of the 1980s, with originality, provenance and documented history becoming increasingly important factors amongst collectors and enthusiasts.
