AI Listing Summary
This 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 (#372/500) is a black example with a grey cloth interior, originally sold by Grays of Guildford. First registered in August 1987, it remains remarkably original, retaining its original exhaust and Dunlop D40 tires, with service history up to 1993. Purchased by the current vendor with just over 41,600 miles, it hasn't been registered or used since, presenting a 'timewarp' opportunity for enthusiasts.
Condition
7
The car is described as remarkably original and well-preserved, with its original components and Grays of Guildford number plates still intact. The car has been started regularly and maintained, suggesting its mechanical condition is good, but it hasn't been used, so it requires inspection to assess what is needed to return it to regular use. There are Ford main dealer service stamps up to 1990, and the most recent MOT dates from 1994. Given that it has been in storage for a long time, it will certainly require some level of reconditioning.

Launched for sale in July 1986 and based on the three-door Sierra body-shell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now legendary repute.
In total 5,545 cars were produced, of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra RS500 Cosworth.
Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded 'evolution' model to be launched.
This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500.
The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Coswort...
