AI Listing Summary
This is a rare, late-production 1984 Renault 5 Gordini Turbo with 69,000 miles, accompanied by an extensive history file. It features a rebuilt engine and gearbox, new turbocharger, and a pre-heat system, making it mechanically sound and highly desirable for collectors.
Condition
7
The car is described as being in highly presentable condition, unrestored but well-maintained, with only minor lacquer peel noted on one door and honest patina. The interior is original and tidy. Recent maintenance includes a rebuilt carburetor, new rear suspension mounts, and a new turbocharger. This suggests overall solid condition with slight wear, so a rating of 7 (Very Good) is appropriate.

Description
Background: Designed and built by Alpine at their Dieppe factory on the Normandy coast, the Renault 5 Alpine Turbo – badged as the Gordini Turbo in the UK – was named in honour of Amédée Gordini, Renault’s legendary performance tuner.
Launched in 1982, it represented the final iteration of the Renault 5 before the platform was replaced by the second generation GT Turbo in 1985.
Offering turbocharged performance in a compact and lightweight package, the Gordini Turbo delivered brisk performance with French flair, making it one of the more charismatic hot-hatches of the 1980s.
With just 13 known survivors currently registered in the UK, the model has become one of the rarest of the period.
This example, first registered in July 1984, is among the very last produced.
The Car: Supplied new by Roundabout Garages of Chelsea to a lady owner, this 1984 Gordini Turbo has covered 69,000 miles, supported by a comprehensive MOT and service history.
