During the final quarter of 1967 Porsche introduced their new 2.0 litre A-Series of which there were four variants including the Luxury L and Sporty S, all could be ordered in Targa or Coupé format.
The 911T (Touring) was a Europe only option for 1968 with the 901/03 flat six engine of 110bhp at 5800rpm with 116 ft lbs torque at 4600rpm.
The 1968 model would be the last of the 911 SWB, it would evolve into the 2.0 B-Series LWB of 1969 of which this example is one.
By moving the rear wheels back 2.4 inches the model enjoyed more predictable handling at speed, increased stability and some would say less ‘twitchy’ than previous models whilst opening the door for increased performance. This example is an early chassis, carrying a product date of December 1968 but being a 1969 model year car.
It was shipped to Porsche Cars Pacific Inc in California and registered on 15th February 1969.
