Condition
7
The car is described as being in 'very good' overall condition, with the paintwork being 'mostly vibrant and shiny'. The listing notes 'one or two cosmetic deviations from perfection if you look closely', specifically mentioning 'stone chips around the front end', 'a chip on the n/s/f wheel arch', 'a couple of shallow dinks on the door on the same side', 'some chips on the rear edges of the doors', 'a paint chip to the o/s/r wing near the door', and 'a small dink at the centre of the driver’s door'. The interior is in an 'exceptional state of preservation' with 'conspicuous staining to the material on the parcel shelf and, to a lesser extent, to the headlining' as minor issues. This truly excellent 911T was delivered new to a dealer in Verona, Italy, in 1970.
It then went on to spend the best part of the next two decades living a no doubt happy and contented life in and around Turin.
Its next European adventure took it to Haarlem in the Netherlands, and there are various bills for maintenance and repair dated from around 1999 through to at least 2006 to attest to its time there.
It was bought by the vendor and relocated to the UK in 2020, undergoing plenty of expensive restorative work in 2021 courtesy of marque specialist, Tuthill.
The vendor has now relocated himself to Budapest and he and the car have undertaken the UK-Hungary round-trip on several occasions with 100% reliability.
The car drives as well as it looks – and it looks superb.
It is agile, responsive and eager; it feels properly screwed-together, and it’s retained all of the trademark ‘built like a tank’ quality associated with Zuffenhausen offerings of this vintage.
