Condition

6

The car is described as 'on the button' and thoroughly gone through by Steve Stanton Motor Sport, suggesting good mechanical condition. However, it's a replica built from a kit with some documentation available, implying it may not be in perfect original condition. Old MoTs and invoices indicate some history and maintenance, but the description doesn't provide enough detail to assess cosmetic condition definitively.

• Built from a Werner Oswald kit • Bristol 406 engine • Featured in Classic & Sports Car magazine's February 2006 edition • Present VSCC-member ownership since 2021 • 'On the button' In the 1980s the UK-based Swiss-born enthusiast Werner Oswald produced 10 Le Mans Replica kits, dubbed 'WOK' by Nash purists.

When powered by the excellent Bristol six-cylinder engine, these cars were considered by many to be closest to the original both in design and components.

Registered as a 1938 Frazer Nash BMW, 'FNA 436' is powered by a Bristol 406 engine.

Purchased by John Barker in the late 1990s, the car has undergone significant improvement since then, being stripped back to its chassis by Mr Barker, who started the project again.

There are a few photographs of the build and some documentation on file.

While owned by John Barker the Replica featured in Classic & Sports Car magazine's February 2006 edition.

In September 2007 John Barker sold the car to Historic racer John Crowson.
