AI Listing Summary
A restored 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ7, this home market RHD example has received over £22,000 in spending in the last 3 years, including body restoration and engine/gearbox work. It presents as a well-maintained and drivable classic with extensive history dating back to 1986 and a recent MOT, making it a desirable example of the Big Healey.
Condition
7
The car is described as being in 'very good condition' with 'investment in the right areas'. It has undergone significant restoration and maintenance, including engine and gearbox rebuilds, and recent paintwork. While it has new seats and refurbished wire wheels, there are minor cosmetic imperfections noted such as lamination damage on the windscreen corner, mild scuffs on the passenger side glass, and mild signs of age on chrome trim. The seller notes a small hole in the soft top and some minor signs of age on the boot lid edge. These minor cosmetic issues prevent it from being rated higher, but the overall mechanical and cosmetic upkeep is strong.

The basic design was released in 1953, but had evolved into a six-cylinder roadster within 3 years.
It found favour as a car that didn’t compromise anything and expected command and commitment from the driver, earning satisfaction by mastering its talent.
By no means a difficult car to drive, its non-nonsense 1950s roots still had huge appeal by the time the 3000 appeared in 1959.
By this time, exports were booming, and took precedence over the home market, which, helped by its impressive competition history, created a legend out of the Big Healey.
One of the few cars that actually became better as production continued, the BJ7 models of 1962 added concessions such as a new wrap-around ...
