Built not because BMW wanted to produce another sporting road car, but because the FIA required a homologation model for Group A Touring Car racing.

The E30 M3 exists purely because BMW Motorsport wanted to win races.

Shooting Brake is thrilled to be listing this exceptional left-hand-drive 1987 BMW E30 M3 Evolution I on the platform.

This particular Evolution I is made even more special by its fascinating ownership story.

The current owner purchased the car in 2003 after regretting selling his first E30 M3 earlier that same year.

Wanting something that stood apart from every other example, he was immediately drawn to its striking Santorini Blue finish.

Originally supplied in black, the car was repainted in 1997 in Germany whilst owned by the dealer principal of a BMW main dealer, who chose Santorini Blue after the introduction of BMW Individual colours on the E36 generation.
