Innovative front-wheel drive, the Dynas were replaced by the very similar PL17s, Panhard's last sedans.

With its powerful, economical twin-cylinder engine, the car could reach speeds that would have cost you points on your driving license on the freeway.

Spacious and elegant, the PL17 also boasted a very large trunk and top-of-the-range comfort.

The prototype of the Panhard PL17 station wagon was exhibited at the 1962 Paris Motor Show.

It completed the existing range, which had not included a station wagon for many years.

Approved by the Mining Department as type L9, the station wagon was not put into production until June 1963.

That year, of the 31,844 passenger cars produced, only 649 were station wagons.

In 1964, some 2,000 station wagons found customers.

In 1965, only 1,055 were built, so fewer than 4,000 saw the light of day.
