Presented at the 1959 Paris Motor Show, the Panhard PL17 replaces the Dyna Z.

Simple evolution, its lines have been brought up to date by Louis Bionier.

Only the front and rear of its predecessor have been modified, the central cell remains the same and takes over the « suicide » doors at the front.

Its silhouette, however, appears more slender thanks to its aluminum rods.

Its name refers to the initials of the founders of the Panhard and Levassor brand and the number 17 is the addition of 5CV + 6 seats + 6 liters per 100 km.

Regarding the mechanics, the PL 17 offers a flat twin of 851 cm3 developing 42 hp.

Panhard will offer several versions of its PL 17 including a sedan, a convertible, a station wagon and a van.
