The Amilcar factory was situated in the outskirts of Paris, Saint-Denis, and started producing cars in 1921.
Amilcar power units were unusual in two respects.
First, all during the 1920s were made by Amilcar themselves.
Indeed, among major components, the company bought out only their radiators, their carburettors (from Solex), their wheels (from Rudge-Whitworth and R.A.F), their universal joints (from Hardy-Spicer) and their shock absorbers (from Repusseau).
David Griffin purchased the Amilcar in 2011 and started the restoration, which included a new Phoenix crank and rods, and new cylinder head which were £3,000 In parts alone.
David was a well-respected engineer and expertly crafted the car into what you see today.
The restoration was finished by 2016, and it was NOVA’d and UK registered in 2015.
