This early Triumph 4 or, retrospectively named, MKI left Canley in Coventry in the spring of 1964.

The registration document suggests that it was finished in white at that stage.

Very little more is known about this diminutive sports car’s early life sadly.

At some point the Triumph has clearly undergone a restoration which seems likely to be around 10 – 15 years ago.

It was probably at this stage that the Spitfire acquired its smart and lustrous bottle green livery.

The Triumph was acquired by the current vendor in June 2019 with five previous keepers having covered the car’s preceding 55 year history.

In June 2019 the odometer was standing at 2956 miles.

On the day of our shoot it was recording 6751 miles, suggesting very modest use in the current ownership.

During the vendor’s tenure plenty has been spent keep this well loved Triumph up to the impressive standard we see here today.
