The car underwent a $120,000 restoration by a North American MG specialist and won an Amelia Island concours. The paintwork is still fresh with a lovely deep shine, whilst the chromework gleams providing the perfect contrast to the dark metalwork. The wire wheels are as new, as are the tyres. The MG’s diminutive cabin is finished to a similarly high standard. The Dark Brown leather seats are glorious both in colour and finish.

Originally delivered new on 7/4/33 to Attwoods Garage, Staffs.

Much later in life this bewitching little MG J2 underwent a full bare-metal restoration, by Tom Metcalf of Safety Fast Restoration in Ohio, before being registered in 2010, in the US state of South Carolina.

It would subsequently go on to take a trophy at the renowned Amelia Island concours and it’s no wonder, as the net cost (indicated above) that restorative process came in at a whopping $120,000.

Today, in the flesh, the results of that work are still crystal clear, as this is one first-class example of the breed.

It’s presented in its original correct colour combination of a Black exterior with Brown leather trim – believed to be one of just 12 examples thus endowed from the factory.
