Présentée en avril 1934 la première Traction Avant de Citroën est alors une ‘Petite Voiture’ inscrite au catalogue en complément de la gamme 8, 10, 15 Rosalie.
C’est alors une 7cv, 1 303 cm3 alésage-course 72x80.
Elle manque tout de même de souffle aussi est-elle remplacée par la 7B, 9cv de 1 529 cm3 en 78x80.
Entre temps une 11cv est arrivée au catalogue animée par un moteur en 78x100, de sorte et en toute logique, une troisième génération de 7 voit le jour, la 7C, dont le moteur 9cv et 1 628 cm3 est standardisé avec celui des 11 avec des cotes d’alésage-course de 78x100.
Cette fois la 7C a quelque chose de définitif, son moteur de 36 chevaux lui apporte une bonne dynamique, elle franchit aisément la barre des 100 km/h.
