LAND ROVER SERIES III

The Land Rover Series III, launched in 1971, retained the Series IIA's mechanics, but featured a new plastic grille and a more comfortable interior.

It was available in 88-inch and 109-inch wheelbases.

The Series III is the most common of the series vehicles, with 440,000 of them built from 1971 to 1985.

The coil-sprung Land Rover Ninety and One Ten, launched in 1983, were its successors.

A little-known fact is that the Series III was the vehicle that Land Rover used to trial a constant four-wheel-drive system, which later became a hallmark of the brand.
