Built as an 88-inch Commercial Logistics (CL) model, it was dispatched from Land Rover on 4th January 1974 and entered service with 44 Squadron, Royal Corps of Transport (RCT) at Camberley, Surrey, carrying military registration 02 GB 63.

Following its military career, it was released from service on 20th May 1980 and subsequently registered with the DVLA on 10th October 1980.Little is known of its civilian life thereafter, although the vehicle reportedly spent some 15 years stored in a barn before being acquired by the vendor and undergoing a substantial restoration during 2023 and 2024.
