The Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, produced from 1969 to 1974, was named in honor of Enzo Ferrari's son, Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, who had a hand in designing its V6 engine.
It was conceived as a more accessible Ferrari, with a smaller engine and lower price point than the marque's V12 models.
The 246 GTS was a targa-topped version of the 246 GT coupe.
Its successor was the Ferrari 308 GTB.
A little-known fact: The Dino's design was initially rejected by Enzo Ferrari, who felt it wasn't a "true" Ferrari because of its V6 engine. It took considerable persuasion from his son Dino and engineer Vittorio Jano to convince him of its merits.
