The Dual-Ghia Convertible, produced from 1956 to 1958, was a blend of American power and Italian design. Eugene Casaroll of Dual Motors, Detroit, envisioned a luxurious, stylish vehicle. Chrysler supplied the Dodge chassis and drivetrain, while Ghia in Italy handled the coachwork.
The story goes that Chrysler initially hesitated to back the project fully, but Casaroll persisted, funding it independently. This persistence resulted in a unique, limited-production car.
There was no direct successor to the Dual-Ghia.
A little-known fact: Some early prototypes used a different Chrysler engine before settling on the Dodge V8.
