CHEVROLET CORVETTE C2 GRAND SPORT REPLICA

The Corvette Grand Sport was born out of Zora Arkus-Duntov's desire to compete with Carroll Shelby's Cobras in the early 1960s. Only five were built before GM brass shut down the project fearing racing would hurt sales.

These lightweight racers featured powerful engines and distinctive styling. They quickly became legends on the track.

Many replicas have been created, honoring the spirit of the original Grand Sports. The C2 Corvette was succeeded by the C3 Corvette.

Did you know? One of the original five Grand Sports, chassis number 004, was initially sold to private racer Grady Davis, a Gulf Oil executive. Davis painted it in Gulf's iconic blue and orange livery. It became a familiar sight at races.
