Condition

8

The car has undergone a complete restoration, including a new chassis and a rebuilt engine and gearbox. The paintwork is excellent with only a couple of very minor chips. The chrome has minor tarnishing, and the interior shows some wear on the driver's bolster and a small amount of damage to the dashboard vinyl. The wheels have slight tarnishing between spokes, but the tires have good tread. Overall, it's in excellent condition for its age and restoration status.

The stylish British sports car that combined classic looks with improved engineering.

The Triumph TR4A IRS was based on the earlier TR4 but was transformed when Triumph introduced independent rear suspension (IRS).

This made the car more comfortable for touring while also improving cornering stability.

Although some markets still received a live-axle version, the IRS model is generally regarded as the more desirable and technically advanced variant, retaining its traditional open-top driving experience.

Powered by a 2.1-litre four-cylinder engine producing around 104 horsepower, the TR4A offered lively performance and could reach a top speed of about 110 mph.

Its Michelotti-designed body, simple interior, and optional overdrive gearbox made it a popular choice for both spirited driving and long-distance touring.

It's clear to see that this stunning example has been well cared for over the past 14 months by Paul and for ~12 years by the former keeper.
