The galvanised-bodied 911, which is further differentiated by the impact bumper design, was equipped with a 2.7-litre Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection engine producing ~165 horsepower for the 1976 model year.

Aligned to the same specification as the pre-74 911 S models, it was fitted with improved interior fittings, including electric windows.

Offered with the Targa option since the mid-sixties, the 911 provided rigid open-air motoring while circumventing US legislation for their then-safety laws.
