Porsche started to design the 718 RSK in 1956 in preparation for the 1957 race season.

It was a continued development of the 550A Spyder, but using a lighter tubular space frame chassis, stronger brakes, and revised front suspension.

The RSK stands for RennSport (sports-racing), and K is the shape of the revised torsion-bar suspension setup.

Mid-engine and running a 1500cc quad-cam engine taken from the 550A produced 142 bhp.

Unfortunately, prices for a 718 RSK are into the millions, putting them out of reach for most of us.
