AI Listing Summary

This 1955 MG ZA saloon has been carefully restored and retains its original 1.5-liter engine, which is a rare find since many have been retrofitted with MGB engines. It offers a classic driving experience with its wood and leather interior and is supported by a strong classic car club for parts and advice.

Condition

6

The car has been carefully restored and retains its original engine block, making it unusual. However, the description also mentions that the car is a 1955 model, implying it's a classic car, but is likely to have wear and tear, needing potential reconditioning. The lack of specific details about the current state of wear, dents, paint, interior, wheels or damage limits a precise condition rating.

The MG brand became synonymous with badge-engineering and parts sharing but this isn't necessarily a negative aspect.

The basic monocoque shell was shared with the luxury orientated Wolseley 4/44 and was powered by a 1.5-litre 60bhp twin SU carburettors Austin engine, yet the car retained its MG flavour.

With a pleasing wood and leather interior, it also drove like a sports saloon should do, guided by its rack and pinion steering and all-round tube shocks.

It was the first in a series of post-war MG 4-door saloons and along with the later ZB series are amongst the most liked of the family orientated sporting MG's.

Grahams carefully restored 1955 saloon, is unusual as it retains its original 1.5-litre engine block.

Many cars have had MGB engines retro-fitted, which could still be a consideration for its new potential owner.

The ZA also has one of the worlds most supported classic car clubs, so parts, advice and meet-ups will never be an issue.
