AI Listing Summary

This 1960 Bentley S2 presents a substantial opportunity with its V8 engine and recent mechanical attention, including chassis welding and electronic ignition. However, the car requires significant cosmetic refurbishment due to numerous paint defects, rust issues, and interior wear, making it ideal for a buyer willing to invest time and effort into restoration.

The car has several cosmetic issues including scratches, rust spots, bubbling paint, cracked paint, chipped paint, a fuel filler flap that doesn't close, a damaged aerial, a poorly sealing sunroof, and boot lid rubbing. The interior has cracked seat leather, a moth-bitten headlining, an inoperative driver's window, and stained carpets. The odometer is also noted as being stuck. While mechanically it runs smoothly and has had recent servicing and chassis welding, the significant cosmetic and interior issues warrant an 'Average' rating.

He drove it to us from his home in South Wales, a journey he described as “a nice run!” – and if it doesn’t meet its reserve, he gets to take it home and keep it with a clear conscience… The Vehicle History Check is clear bar a marker for a change of colour, which is a bit odd as the Bentley appears to be finished in the same colour scheme it left the factory with.

We suppose it may have received a change to red and silver at some point before being returned to its original hue or it could be a SNAFU by the DVLA.

It’s definitely had paint though and presents well as you walk up to it with straight panels an...
