Description from The Vendor: ‘Pelly’ has been in the same family since new in 1954.
The current owner’s great uncle Frank Webb arranged the sale from Henly’s in Bournemouth for a widowed neighbour…but she took a rapid dislike because of it’s size …so he took over ownership in the first month.
When he died in 1964 he left it to his niece, the current owner’s aunt, but it was only used infrequently for family visits and French holidays as the aunt and husband commuted to work in London by tube.
It failed the Mo
T in 1975 because of. worn track rod end and was left in the garage for 18 years whilst replaced by a new DAF and eventually an Escort.
It was offered to the current owner who accepted from nostalgia as it was the first car he remembered riding in…up the Lower Blandford Road into Broadstone at 60mph before there was a speed limit (sitting on the rear armrest aged 7yrs).
