Vehicle Details
AI Listing Summary
This 1961 Jaguar Mark 2 Saloon has been extensively upgraded with a 4.2L engine, five-speed manual transmission, and numerous modern features. Restored and modified, it boasts enhanced performance and luxury, with only 7,000 miles since restoration, making it a unique and potent classic.
Condition
7
While the car has been restored and features numerous upgrades, the listing mentions it was modified, potentially affecting its originality and collector value. Although it presents handsomely with a fresh interior and gleaming paint, the non-original engine and other modifications might deter purists. The extensive mechanical refurbishment by J.D. Classics is a plus, but the overall condition aligns more with a well-maintained, upgraded driver rather than a concours-level example.

Wheelbase: 2,718 mm Jaguar’s lovely and athletic mid-sized saloon first appeared as a 1956 model, and it offered several landmark features.
It was Jaguar’s first unitised-construction automobile, and it introduced a 2.4-litre version of the immortal XK series twin-camshaft motor, which had heretofore been limited to sports models like the XK120, into a four-door, multi-passenger automobile.
In ensuing years, ever-larger motors were installed, such as the 3.4 litre in 1957 and the 3.8 litre in 1959.
The latter powerplant coincided with a revamping of the body and chassis, becoming known as the Mark 2, with the earlier cars now being identified as Mark 1s.
Mark 2s also featured larger windows and additional chrome trim...
