The Renault Dauphine was already a success even before the wizard Gordini got involved.

Launched in 1956, the Dauphine received Amédée's care from 1958 onwards, with the R1091 type developing 33 horsepower.

In 1966, the Dauphine Gordini R1095 appeared, with the four-cylinder engine now boosted to 40 hp! Above all, it was equipped with many parts from the new Renault 8, which had replaced the Dauphine in the meantime, such as the running gear.
