The great saga of Delage roadsters with 8-cylinder engines began in 1929 with the 23 hp (4,100 cm3) D8.

Quiet, comfortable and classy, these cars, often dressed by the finest coachbuilders, represented the pinnacle of French production and won numerous concours d'élégance awards.

In 1932, the manufacturer introduced the D8-15 (15 HP).

Particularly rare as it was produced in a single year, it was powered by a 2.7-liter block with a 5-bearing crankshaft with damper, developing 80 hp at 4,400 rpm.
Chassis #38713 has a remarkable history, traced thanks to the certificate and history provided by Noelle Chapron, as well as an extract from the archives of the Henri Chapron coachbuilder.
