in the early 2000s, the car was dismantled, restored and rebodied in the style of the coachbuilders of the
period; the work was carried out at no extra cost, with the bodywork done by the renowned David Royle in England costing
in excess of €70,000.
Roadster design, inspired by the standards of the late 1930s, perfectly executed from a new wood frame, on a chassis restored to the most exacting standards.
The Delage D8 is at the very top of the serious French manufacturer’s prestigious catalogue; this is the first version of the
D8, on a non-lowered chassis, powered by the incredible 4-litre 8-cylinder engine derived from the 15S8 racing car.
In this case, Mr E.

did what many of the marque’s wealthy customers were already doing in the 1930s: he had a bare chassis
custom-built to his own specifications.
