SUIZA type T 49 C'est l'ingénieur suisse Marc Birkigt et le financier Catalan Damian Mateù qui fondèrent la célèbre marque Hispano Suiza dès 1904 à Barcelone.

Si l'argent était espagnol, la conception et la réalisation étaient d'une qualité helvétique.

Peu de temps après, Marc Birkigt s'installa définitivement en France.

Malgré tout, il continua à concevoir les modèles pour l'usine Espagnol.

C'est ainsi que naquit le type T49, étudié à Bois-Colombes mais fabriqué à Barcelone.

Le moteur de la T49 possède une culasse détachable en fonte (comme le bloc) et non plus un bloc borgne en aluminium comme sur les 32 ou 46 cv.

Ce modèle était disponible en deux longueurs de châssis 3.37m ou 3.57m.

La qualité de conception était identique et comparable aux modèles plus imposants et plus puissants fabriqués à Bois-Colombes.

La T49 est un modèle typiquement européen: étudié en France et fabriqué en Espagne.

Mais c'est, avant toute autre chose, une HISPANO SUIZA.
