Thanks to the Jaguar Heritage certificate, we know that this E-Type was manufactured on the 3rd of June 1970, the first owner was Major R Waugh Harris from Shropshire, its original registration number was ‘TAW772J’, it was British Racing Green in colour and it had an automatic transmission… it’s not now, more later.

What happened after the Major took delivery is unknown, but we believe it was taken over to Holland sometime later, by a Dutch born member of the British armed forces.

There are some handwritten pages in the file that may shed some light, but they are in Dutch and beyond our linguistic team.

However, there are some photographs showing the Jaguar, now red, on Dutch number plates.

Fast forward to 2015, and we have proof that it was returned to the UK and issued with its current registration number.

Now we start the interesting part of the story.
