The Ford Capri 280, more famously known as the Brooklands, was the final special edition of the Capri line, produced in 1986 as a swan song for Ford’s iconic European coupé.

By the mid-1980s, the Capri’s sales had dwindled as hot hatchbacks like the Volkswagen Golf GTi took over its market, prompting Ford to end production with a limited run of 1,038 examples.

All Brooklands models were finished in metallic Brooklands Green, with distinctive 15” seven-spoke alloy wheels, red-piped leather Recaro seats, and other luxury touches that set them apart.

Powered by the 2.8-litre Cologne V6 with fuel injection, producing around 160 bhp, the 280 combined strong performance with everyday usability, making it a true driver’s car.
