We are indebted to the vendor for supplying the following information: “The previous owner of this vehicle, the magnificently named Bartholemew William Aldwinkle, bought this car from Bristol's Kensington High Street showroom in 1980.
It had just one previous owner.
Mr Aldwinkle kept the car for forty two years, he sold it via an auction, driving the car from his home in Stamford to the auction venue in Derbyshire, from where I purchased the car in 2022.
The vehicle, whilst driving and presenting extremely well, had a very worn and tired interior; the leather was dry and cracked, and the wood trim and dash were in need of repolishing and lacquering.
I stripped out the entire interior, including the headlining.
The seats and door cards were retrimmed in high-quality leather (no vinyl), and a new panelled head lining installed, similar in style to a Bentley Brooklands.
