The Mk2 Golf GTI was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1983 and, like its predecessor, was well received by the press, with What Car? magazine awarding it 'Car of the Year 1985'.

Incredibly, almost 40 years later, the Mk2 GTI remains one of the defining hot hatches of its era, combining everyday usability with engaging performance and timeless styling.

First registered on 20th February 1986 by Bristol Street Motors, Nottingham, this little GTI remained with its first owner for an extraordinary 33 years, from 1986 until 2019.

Finished in Atlas Grey Metallic (LP7V), it retains its original paint with a glass-like finish, matching 1.8-litre EV 112bhp fuel-injected engine paired with the factory five-speed manual gearbox.

Factory equipment includes tinted glass, a passenger door mirror and rear mud flaps, whilst the car is accompanied by its original leather-bound book pack, owner's manuals and even its original Volkswagen Golf GTI sales brochure.
