This five-door ‘big bumper’ Volkswagen Golf GTI MkII has been off the road for the last 14 years.

The vendor, who has owned it since 2004, describes it as ‘quite a nice solid car in need of TLC’ complete with personal registration number (which is transferrable).

It does run and drive but the engine is ‘a little smoky’.

The car was registered in June 1990 and is showing 108,224 miles on its odometer.

However its last MoT expired in Sept 2011 after being tested the year before at an indicated 163,775 which suggests that a new speedometer has been fitted at some point.

The car has been upgraded with stiffer suspension front and rear.

Paperwork includes the V5C, print-out of the online MoT information back to 2006, the book pack with owner's handbook, VAG service directory and service book (with entries up to October 1996 at 71,025 miles), and MoTs and invoices.
