Manufactured between 2004 and 2009, the Ferrari F430 succeeded the hugely successful 360 Modena and, according to Ferrari, was over 70% new compared with its predecessor, itself a ground-breaking model.

Its aluminium chassis was stiffer and more rigid than that of the 360, while a new engine, F1 transmission, electronic differential and extensively revised chassis combined to deliver a significantly more focussed driving experience.

Although its styling is clearly related to that of the 360 Modena, the F430 was, in reality, an almost entirely new design.

Penned largely by Pininfarina under the direction of Ferrari's design chief, Frank Stephenson, the F430 remains a striking and contemporary-looking supercar today.

Sharper and more purposeful than the 360, its styling incorporates subtle cues from the Enzo, particularly around the rear light treatment and aerodynamic detailing.
