Revived for the modern era, the Alpine A110 captured the essence of its 1960s predecessor by focusing not on outright power, but on lightness, balance and driver engagement.

In an age increasingly dominated by weight and complexity, the A110 stood apart as a refreshingly pure sports car, engineered around an aluminium structure and weighing little more than 1,100kg.

The more focused A110 S, introduced in 2019, sharpened that already impressive formula.

Retaining the mid-engined, rear-wheel drive layout and 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the ‘S’ benefits from increased boost pressure and revised calibration, lifting output to around 288–292bhp.

With a power-to-weight ratio that rivals far more expensive machinery, the A110 S is capable of 0–62mph in approximately 4.2 seconds, whilst maintaining the agility and delicacy that define the Alpine driving experience.
