Description

Built over a15 year period An exceptional example of a Works Replica

Originally registered on 1st December 1969 this is an exceptional Works Replica of the BMC Mini Works ORX rally cars.

Purchased by the vendor in 2005 as a father and son restoration project, the car was stripped, revealing some horror stories, resulting in the need for major bodywork which was commenced in-house.

A house move and other life issues resulted in not much work being carried out on the car until 2011.

The Mini was then sent to Sleaford Mini Centre with specific instructions to complete the welding and panel work and paint it in Tartan Red with a white roof, the traditional colour combination of the Works Mini’s.

The vendor had not made his mind up at this point what he was going to do with the car, other than he wanted to rally it. With the bodyshell looking resplendent, he had a strong reluctance to put any un-refurbished items back in the car.

A long road of sourcing parts was embarked upon.
