The Mulsanne was unveiled at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, replacing the hugely successful Arnage, named after another part of the famed French racetrack.
The Mulsanne retained the 6750cc, V8 power unit from the Arnage, but with improvements; the engine was lighter and featured cylinder de-activation and variable cam phasing to improve fuel efficiency.
It was also the first flagship car to be independently designed by Bentley Motors in nearly 80 years; the last being W.O.
