II 1600E Registration: STA 433H Chassis No: BA97JE17741 Engine No: JE17741 Mileage: 37,643 The second incarnation of the Cortina was designed by Roy Haynes and was launched on 18th October 1966.

One of the best loved versions of that Cortina appeared in 1967, the 1600E, which was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October of that year.

The mechanical specification included an 88bhp, 1600cc Cortina GT engine which achieved a fuel consumption of 25 miles per gallon.

The 1600E interior came equally well equipped and included special rear bucket seats, reclining front seats, sports steering wheel, extra instruments and wood trim.

Production ended in 1970 and, despite attempts at reviving the idea of an 'Executive' version of other, later models, Ford never recaptured the original feel of the Cortina Mk.
