Structurally excellent and complete project • Only 2 previous US owners • Desirable and extremely original • Correct matching engine number 556063 Introduced at the 1957 Turin Salon, the Fiat 1200 TV Trasformabile was an obvious evolution of its 1100-103 predecessor.

As head of the Turin giant’s inhouse special bodies division – Dipartimento Carrozzerie Derivate e Speciali – Fabio Liugi Rapi riffed off contemporary Ferrari and Lancia Spider designs to produce an ultra-stylish two-seater characterised by its distinctive split grille, wraparound windscreen and rear wing embellishers.

Sharing the same 1221cc OHV four-cylinder engine, four-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension and four-wheel drum brakes as its Granluce saloon sibling, the newcomer was reputedly capable of 90mph; a speed in keeping with the ‘TV’ (or Turismo Veloce) part of its nomenclature.
