Introduced in 2001, the SLK32 AMG was powered by a handbuilt, supercharged 3.2 litre V6 engine allied to Mercedes-Benz’s new SpeedShift 5G-Tronic transmission.

With 349bhp/332lbft on tap, it was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds and 155mph (limited).

The suspension, brakes and steering were all upgraded to deal with such Porsche 911 performance levels, while the discrete bootlid spoiler reduced lift by fifty percent.
