Unveiled alongside the coupe in Miami Beach in May 2024, the Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider continued Maranello’s tradition of open-top, front-engine V-12 grand tourers.

Its name, Italian for “12 cylinders,” placed the engine at the center of the car’s identity, while its design drew inspiration from Ferrari’s front-engine V-12 two-seaters of the 1950s and 1960s.

Developed in parallel with the coupe, the Spider added the prospect of enjoying its naturally aspirated V-12 with the roof lowered without abandoning the comfort expected of a modern Ferrari grand tourer. Its retractable aluminum hardtop opened or closed in just 14 seconds and could be operated at speeds up to 45 km/h.

The lightweight construction helped limit weight high in the car, while an electrically adjustable rear screen improved occupant comfort with the roof lowered.
