It has the 6-cylinder Ford engine (2,553 cc) mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox.
Our vendor, inspired by an article in Classic Cars (on file), acquired this Scimitar in December 2009.
Although a UK car it was at that time owned by a motoring journalist/photographer in Holland (still on UK plates).
He had purchased the car in 2002.
Part of the appeal of this particular Scimitar was the fact that it had received a full body-off, engine out restoration in the 1980s/1990s (there is a photo album showing the restoration).
The other appealing factor was that the car looked stunning finished in bright red sitting on wire wheels – very similar to the car that featured in the Classic Cars article.
