Description
The Farina designed Morris Oxfords were produced from 1959 – 1971 and sought to continue the very successful and long running Oxford name.
The series VI offerings came in Saloon and Traveller (Estate) forms from 1961, both using an uprated version of the B Series BMC four cylinder engine of 1622cc.
The basic body style was shared with the Austin Countryman but there were interior differences in dashboard and seating.
They were actually built at different factories too.
Whilst many of the smaller Morris 1000 Travellers are still in circulation, the mid-range Oxford version, which was competing against the Singer Gazelle and Vauxhall Victor Estate cars of the time, is a far rarer find and a good one must surely be worth serious thought.
With very few examples left, this Oxford Farina Traveller must be one of the best on the market, not in concours condition but a generally good, solid example with excellent chrome, a presentable exterior and a very tidy interior.
