The DB2/4 represented an important step in Aston Martin's development under David Brown.

Introduced in 1953 as the successor to the DB2, it retained the elegant Frank Feeley styling and advanced Lagonda straight-six, but introduced a 2+2 configuration with two occasional rear seats and a large opening rear hatch.

The additional practicality was significant, establishing the 2+2 grand touring format that would become a defining characteristic of Aston Martin for decades to come.

The new model also featured a one-piece curved windscreen, higher-mounted headlamps and more substantial bumpers.
