KEY FACTS This Land Rover Series II 109” is a classic British 4x4, which is noted to have been preserved using period-correct parts when needed.

Under the bonnet sits the original 2.25-litre (2,286 cc) ‘151’ inline-four petrol engine fed by a Solex carburettor, which sends its power to all four wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with high and low range gearing.

Built in September 1959 and despatched to Land Rover dealer Botwoods, Ipswich, it has been with the seller for seven years.

The HPI report indicates that the car was previously registered overseas and first registered with the DVLA in January 1988, though the seller notes that the car has not been registered overseas, and that it was unregistered while in use as a recovery vehicle, using the garage’s trade plates until January 1988 when the vehicle was first registered with the DVLA due to a change in classification for recovery vehicles.
