Beginning as a Polar White (149) SL 600, this SL soon entered the rarified world in Affalterbach at the hands of AMG shortly after completing production.
Its factory option codes show it was specified with multi-contour seats, xenon headlights, the AMG styling package for the front spoiler, side skirts, and rear apron, shell modification for AMG wheels, and staggered, two-piece 8.5x18 front and 10x18 rear AMG wheels.
These options were ordered in advance of its trip to Affalterbach, where AMG replaced the standard 394-horsepower 6.0-liter V12 with the upgraded, potent 500-horsepower 7.0-liter AMG-tuned V12.
Once AMG completed the work, the SL was shipped to Japan, where its CAR VX Vehicle History Report shows it was first registered in December 1996 in the Shinagawa prefecture of Tokyo.
